I studied mathematics and computer science at the Technische Universität Berlin. I graduated in discrete geometry and computer graphics. In October 2006, I became a member of the DFG research training group Methods for Discrete Structures (MDS). At the MDS I wrote a PhD thesis on geometric and combinatorial problems related to polytope theory under the supervision of Günter Ziegler. I defended on February 9, 2009. My co-advisor was Gil Kalai.
One thing that is great about writing a PhD is that you get to travel a lot to conferences around the world. I went to Paris, Jerusalem, Oberwolfach and also had the great opportunity to spend two months at the MSRI in Berkeley in the late summer/early fall of 2006. In the spring of 2008 I went to Barcelona for three months to visit and work with Julian Pfeifle at UPC.
I love photography and in 2009 I moved to Lübeck to join Nik
Software, a company specialized in software for professional
photographers.
A Lost Counterexample and a Problem on Illuminated Polytopes, with Günter M. Ziegler, published in The American Mathematical Monthly.
Incidence Graphs and Unneighborly Polytopes , PhD thesis, 2009.
On Linkages in Polytope Graphs, with Axel Werner, published in Advances in Geometry.
Rudin's non-shellable ball, published at eg-models.
